    Radiation - Japan Disaster

    Potassium (Kalium) Iodide (KI)

    The nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan is no doubt a serious and concerning issue on many levels. While there are serious health impacts from exposure to excessive amounts of radiation, at the time of writing this (March 25, 2011) taking potassium iodide as a protective measure is not helpful for Vancouver Island residents (or anyone east of the pacific).

    We at the clinic are keeping up to date on developments in Fukushima and how they may impact our health here on Vancouver Island. Below are a few helpful links that contain current and useful information regarding the Fukushima nuclear plant, health risks and specifically potassium iodide.
